Michelle Dankoski

Michelle Dankoski serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Illinois State Police, where she provides strategic leadership over the agency's financial operations, including budgeting, procurement, grants management, financial reporting, and enterprise process improvement.

Now entering her twentieth year of State service, Michelle has dedicated her career to strengthening government operations through continuous improvement. Across a variety of financial and operational roles, she has led initiatives focused on strengthening financial stewardship, improving business processes, enhancing internal controls, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering practical solutions to complex organizational challenges.

Michelle earned both her Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Illinois Springfield. She is passionate about developing efficient, sustainable processes that strengthen organizational performance while enabling people to do their best work. Having benefited from exceptional mentors throughout her career, Michelle is committed to paying that investment forward by mentoring others and cultivating an environment where continuous learning, collaboration, and respect for people drive meaningful improvement. She believes process improvement is most successful when it removes barriers, simplifies work, and empowers employees to focus on delivering exceptional public service.
