Barbara Ballard

Dr. Barbara (Barbi) Ballard serves as the Assistant Superintendent at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI), soon to be formally known as the Illinois School for the Blind (ISB). In her eighth year in administration at ISVI/ISB, she oversees the Education Department, Admissions and Records, and Health Services.

Her leadership is grounded in organizational systems thinking. She is particularly invested in the Rapid Results process, which is especially impactful in a school organziation because it accelerates collaborative problem‑solving, builds cross‑department ownership, and produces measurable improvements within short cycles—making systemic change both attainable and sustainable.
